My boyfriends dog has been going here for years for a simple allergy shot..so when we adopted two kittens we just assumed the care would be good. Both kittens we adopted had some minor health issues, bad breath, ringworm, diarrhea. Dr. McDonald assured us the issues were stress related and ran no tests until we demanded. They never took a stool sample or a ringworm test initially. It took TWO weeks to get results back and when the other kitten had caught the ringworm they told us we would have to bring her in for ANOTHER appointment and have another test run. Our one kitten had bad breath..he said he couldn’t even tell if it was her adult or kitten teeth and that we would have to see a cardiologist and an animal dentist and that she would need teeth removed. He said it would be thousands of dollars. Our dog eventually got Spayed at Banfield and we found out they didn’t even do a blood test on her before surgery..and did not warn us of the side effects of her medications so we had to rush her to an emergency vet (after Banfield told us they would not see her because the vet was done in 10 minutes) because she was vomiting bile. Thank GOD I went to Yellow Springs Veterinary and got a second opinion. Turns out we got both kittens ringworm treatment and the one kitten just has a mild case of gingivitis, so I brush her teeth a few times a week. If we had listened to Banfield I would’ve spent hundreds more dollars driving to see animal specialists. Banfield is the trashy urgent care of pet hospitals and I can’t believe they are still in business. They act rushed and they do not provide quality thorough care for your animal.
First, could not get an appointment for my new puppy for many weeks for his initial vaccines. Second, my puppy became sick and was vomiting his first week home. Then Banfield denied him a visit when he was sick but Middletown Veterinary Clinic was able to see him the same day and were very caring and professional. Third, Banfield then proceeded to get the date of birth wrong for our puppy even though I told them multiple times and to multiple employees that it needs to be changed. This led to our puppy getting vaccines that he was not supposed to get at his age, which is very upsetting. Why would we have scheduled his initial vaccines and checkup if he was 16 weeks old? The vet even said that he seemed small to be 16 weeks... Then we were charged full price even though they screwed up. Lastly, his date of birth STILL has not been changed in their system when I went to check his profile on their website. Will not be returning.
Very trustworthy. Dr. McDonald is great !
Proactive staff. A good digital experience what with booking online rescheduling. Then communicate well and often over the phone too. We exercise in annual plan and they even remind us to use the visits we've paid for
I had to put my dog to sleep. They made it so much easier. They were kind and respectful.
We would be honored! Please reach out and expect to be treated like the ROCKSTAR that you are! 🙂
