I take Kumdo with my 11 year old and we are having a great time. We travel from Frederick to take these classes. Master Kim does an excellent job in teaching the skills but also the life lessons (discipline and respect) as well. The best part is sparring with my son with bamboo swords.
We have been taking the class for more than 1 year. It's a very fun class, we are learning a lot about kicking techniques also. Grandmaster Kim and his instructors are awesome and very friendly.
The one-star reviews on here appear to all have a similar theme: someone signed a long-term contract and changed their mind (for whatever reason), and then got upset they couldn't cancel. There are multiple plans offered when you sign up, some are short and some are longer. The longer plans will save you money in the long run, but it also means you're committed to the program longer. This is like someone signing up for a 2-year cell phone plan, getting a free phone, and then getting upset they can't just cancel the plan and keep the phone. The good news is I believe they offer the first lesson (maybe even the first month) free! This is a great opportunity to check out a class and find a training program that works for you. Korean Martial Arts is a fantastic martial arts training center. It is very clear Master Kim cares about his students' success as well as their overall health. Highly recommended if you are considering learning something new (and no, I'm not getting paid to write this)!
My children have been coming here for a little over a year and have learned so much. The instructors are great. Will definitely recommend.
We would be honored! Please reach out and expect to be treated like the ROCKSTAR that you are! 🙂
